Textile Art

For Irma!

It’s the fourth in the series: Family Stories. I’m not sure who took this photo of my mother as a young woman during the depression at work in a cigar shop.  It was most likely one of her brothers. I love this shot.  It just brings the viewer right there past time and place.  This art quilt is in her honor.  In case you’re wondering, those tiny bundles sewed onto the cloth are my offerings to the ancestors pictured in each quilt. Hope you like it Irma Muriel Bushee-Doucette!
